indie plus size fashion | chubby carthwheels

Ok, so If you’ve been keeping up with my Portland adventure { pt 1 & pt 2 } than you know I got the chance to model for indie plus size brand, Chubby Cartwheels.

Kobi and I had the pleasure to model some new crop tops and skirts she has coming out, as well as the new sunnies she has up on the shop. I’m not going to ramble on too long and just give you the goods!

tops: printed crop tops , quilted crop top, velvet crop top, diet industry drop out tee

skirts: leopard print skater skirt, rose print scuba skirt, cotton knit skater skirts

accessories : goth gurl fluffy earrings, sunglasses

These photos turned out so great and it was SO. MUCH. FUN!

Shawna took our photos and her lovely assistant made sure everything was ready for us to switch into our next outfits. I was nervous at first, but then it basically was just my friend taking photos of me and I trusted her that since she wants her stuff to look good, shed want me to look good too. So I wasn’t distracted with worrying if the shots were turning out, she would tell me to hold a pose if it was working and mostly we just had a bunch of fun!

I know y’all know I don’t wear a ton of pattern, but these skirts, holy crap, I WANT THEM SO BAD!

I thought I left leopard print back with my rockabilly phase, but look how awesome it is, especially with the most perfect velvet black crop top in all of existence! { seriously, I’ve been looking for a black crop with sleeves this length forever! }

And that rose print skirt? Its made of a thick scuba, so it sits perfectly on every body I saw it on at the event that followed our photo shoot! It was even more gorgeous in person than the photographs, it and it’s pretty and beautiful in the photos! The quilted black crop was so nice. I loved how it fit, I was able to size down to a 2X in this one as it has a nice stretch and the arm holes fit so nicely, no gap, no weird side boob action! I need it too. Dammit, I’m gonna be so broke.

Thus ends my first go at being a plus size model and I kinda can’t wait to do it again! I don’t think this will be the last time you see me modelling for Chubby Cartwheels as I only live a 6 hour drive away and I now have several places to lay my head for visits down to my fav U.S. city!

I really love working with and supporting indie plus size brands and designers. I think about the girl I was 5 years ago who thought she had next to zero shopping options and I think if only I had known more plus size bloggers that were opening my eyes and showing me all the options out there. Especially from the designers that are giving us exactly what we are craving the most because they’re right there with us!
