review + giveaway | plus size tights We Love Colors

Hello hello!! I’m only a little late on my promised review of plus size tights brand  We Love Colors. But I actually had a snafu and had to get a second pair. But I will get into that in a bit.

We Love Colors review | plus size tights

Let me tell you a wee bit about We Love Colors first.

They are an online retailer that offers a huge catalog of opaque, microfibre plus size tights in solid colours, stripes, checkerboard, tie dye and fishnet etc. They also have an activewear line that I’m dying to try!

The size range in plus is:

Size A/B C/D E EE
Height 4’11” – 5’5″ 5’5″ – 6’0″ 5’5″ – 6’0″ 5’5″ – 6’0″
Weight 160 – 220 lbs. 215 – 275 lbs. 270 – 325 lbs. 320 – 375 lbs.

So we gotta give a big YAY for a large size range and HUGE colour and style selection!

Now, the first pair I ordered was a pair of maroon tights in a size C/D, I’m 5’5″ and about 260lbs so I thought they’d be my size. I wore them out for one day at the pumpkin patch to get some photos and was kinda bummed to see when I got home the crotch had blown three holes already, plus a tiny snag in the thigh and a hole in the toe.

So, just like you may be right now, I was kinda shocked!

The day hadn’t been very taxing, just a car ride out to the pumpkins and then a shopping trip at Ikea, all in all, I was out for about 6 hours. So I quickly emailed my contact at We Love Colors to let her know.

This is where things went from bummer to fantastic!

My contact jumped on helping me immediately.

I had ordered maroon and I was told they had to be dyed to order before shipping them out, so I thought maybe they rushed them out to me. But she said that they actually colour all of their tights in house everyday { which is pretty freaking cool! }. She was baffled at what had happened as she has had testimonies from customers who had owned pairs for years with no holes.

She was so helpful and immediately had another pair sent out to me. The shipping was fast and courteous. I decided to stick with that same colour, as I truly love the shade of maroon but this time I chose to size up just so I wouldn’t have another incident. Since I do fit right at the cusp of the two sizes, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try the E and just hope they wouldn’t fall down to my ankles.

The new pair arrived and this time I put them to the test.

They fit well, and the size up was a wee bit more comfortable. The waist goes way way high up, on both pairs, but the first pair left a mark on my rib cage where they sat, but the new pair did not. I made a point to put these ones through the ringer.

Well, kinda. I didn’t run an obstacle coarse or anything.

This is why my review is so late, I had to wait for a second pair and then made sure to really try them out. I wore them for three separate days and all with different activities, varying lengths of time, as well as differing outfits and shoes. Plus a washing.

And  guess what? They are still looking brand new! The colour is still vibrant, the texture is unchanged, no pilling, snags or holes!

YAY!

The fabric is nice and thick, the colour is rich, I want a couple more pairs now, but in navy, teal and gold. And they never bunched up on my ankles or slid down!

So, I give them an A, no plusses though, because the first pair did not fair well, but the second won me over. I recommend if you straddle two sizes, go for the larger size.

Now, if you would like to try your own pair We Love Colors has graciously offered me to give a pair away! You get to choose your own colour from 51 colours available!

We Love Colors did supply me with a complimentary pair { well two complementary pairs } but this review is not sponsored. The opinions and experiences expressed are 100% my own.

I absolutely love We Love Colors line. I buy the tights all the time for my daughter and own a pair myself. I’m not sure what color I would pick. I think either black or red.

I’ve been buying from WeLoveColors since the early 2000’s. It’s been awhile though, and I could use some Navy footless tights! <3

I love that Maroon on you!!! So I would definitely pick either maroon, brown, or amethyst (the wild card, lol) to start. But I would ultimately love it in all the colors to be able to wear behind ripped jeans or to shake up my wardrobe. Thanks for sharing!!!
