Hey babes!! I’m so excited and rejuvenated to be back after a rad as all hell camping trip out on a mountain lake. I was completely off the grid, it’s so refreshing to not have my ipad attached to my hand 24/7, though I still had it in hand a few times to document some treasured moments!
Today I’m back with an outfit post, which has been AGES! I had fallen into a funk and couldn’t find the gumption to get done up and drag the hub out to take photos of me. But I got a forever21 delivery right before we left and a colourpop delivery once I got home so it seemed my stars are properly aligned again and I’m back in the saddle. I decided what was needed as a little summer goth inspo and I thought I’d also share ways to rock a summer goth look without baking in all black.
distressed cut off shorts – forever21 + { US / CAN }| caged crop top & duster trench – Society+
These shorts are a new score I picked up from my f21+ order, I’ve often shied away from super short shorts for a couple reasons 1. Fear of chub rub and 2. fear of my thighs gobbling them up as I walk { you know what I’m talking about! }, but with the help of some chub rub stick and an ever growing abundance of not giving a fuck, I gave them a whirl and I’ve been wearing them HEAPS, heaps I tells ya!
The lace victorianesque top is an oldie I’ve never been able to give up, I think I bought it for $11 bucks in the junior section at Winners about 12 years ago. I added the cage crop top underneath for some goth edge, it’s from Society+, as is this fabulous, 80’s esque duster jacket. It’s perfectly slouchy, breezy and light, especially for keeping the sun off on warmer days.
My trusty wide brimmed hat is ages old now, from f21, but they recently brought it back!!! { f21–> US / CAN }, sans the studded band. My clunky lug soled platform boots are extra 90’s grunge goth inspired, and this lipstick I’m rocking? It’s part of my big colourPop! haul and I’m so flipping in love with this shade and formula! It’s creamy and rich, I swoon!
This smishsmash of decade inspired pieces, mixed with the right attitude and a bit of dark lipstick makes for the perfect summer goth look.
