Well well, I seem to be over my post Hallowe’en gloomy dooms and now I’m ready for the next wave of holidays! So today I am bringing you four plus size holiday glam looks I am DYING over! They are glamorous and chic and edgy and I’m pretty sure there is a look for everyone! And yes, I have picks for ALL budgets here!

Plus Size Holiday Glam Look 1: Mixed Metallic Goddess

Plus Size Holiday Glam Guide | Mixed Metallics

mongolian faux fur – ASOS | silver metallic heeled sandals – ASOS HINT | long metallic dress – Buxom Modern Plus Boutique | rainbow moonstone Coven ring – LSD Jewelry |  caged pointed tow flats – ASOS LOOKOUT | Alice & You metallic mini shift dress – ASOS | Pearl Embellished Clutch Bag – ASOS | quartz crystal pendant necklace – IronOxide

I saw Buxom had just launched it’s winter collection so I took a peep, holy hell, I fell for this dress HARD! And so did a lot of other people because it is selling out FAST! I’m dying a little inside that it’s not already in my closet! But for those who want to rock something a little leggier I decided to have a short option as well with this Alice & You dress at ASOS.

This look was all about being the center of attention and being a gilded goddess while you’re at it. So I thought mixing metallics was the way to go for the whole look, it’s daring but when pulled off it looks sooo goooood! You want the accessories to go with each other but not necessarily to match.

This clutch is kinda perfect for both dresses as it has mixed metallics and mixed textures which make it look edgy, eclectic and super posh. The beading makes it look super rich and decadent which is the vibe you want to convey with this look.

The shoes for me HAD to be either silver or pewter for the most contrast in the mixed metallic look.  You could go for a pointed toe or a heeled sandal with this look, either will totally rock it! I think the flats would look super cute with the shorter dress and a heel for the long dress. I’m also digging these pewter heels, so shiny!!

The finishing touches for this look are the accessories. A long necklace or a statement ring is the right choice, I’m a dark soul so I dig esoteric and macabre designs. I adore creepy little details that are hauntingly beautiful. I’m also a huge fan of crystals and natural stones { not that I don’t love some sparkly precious gems }  I think stones like labradorite or rainbow moonstone are so lovely and such a perfect stone to bring in to play here, as they have such glorious flashes of colour that will really compliment all of the various shades and shines of metallic at play.

And then finally a faux fur capelet or stole. Nothing screams old Hollywood glam like a show stopping dress and a bit of fluffy extravagance framing your face. Little capelets are really in for this year { check out this cute blush sequin one Buxom is carrying as well! } but I think stoles or wraps are a little more versatile because you can add them to your jackets and coats. I chose this faux Mongolian scarf because of the colour, but it is a little steep in price { here are 4 cheaper options: one in teal, one in navy and the other two in black, but with different textures here and here }

Plus Size Holiday Glam Look 2: Your own take on a Tailored Tux

Plus Size Holiday Glam Guide Tailored Tux

sequin tux jacket – eloquii | ankle strap bow detail court shoes – Missguided | velvet bow tie – ASOS | New Look Inspire black blazer – ASOS | Carmakoma leather look trousers – ASOS | sequin pencil skirt –  ASOS CURVE |  contrast corset – CityChic | grace gold trim brogues – Missguided { on sale!! only $20!! }

Just because it’s the holidays doesn’t mean you need to be in a dress { though did I included a skirt here }! I adore androgynous fashion and always felt I was cut out because of my abundantly curvy and feminine body, but EFF THAT! If there is anything the last two years of blogging had taught me, if you want to wear it, there is a way to rock it on your body and a place to buy the pieces.

I did go fairly glitz on this, but it’s all in how you play with and mix n’ match the pieces for your perfect lady tux moment.

For bottoms, I don’t know why, but leather look was drawing me in. There is something about the texture that really seems to up the ante for a holiday tux look. But you could always rock a cigarette pant as well, I love how bare ankles look with a short or cuffed pant!

I couldn’t draw myself away from this sequin pencil skirt. I just think a nicely fit white blouse, a sturdy tailored blazer and a tie will balance it out as a classy yet feminine look.

This sequin jacket from Eloquii is kinda just the thing for the holidays though, it works so well with everything to dazzle it up. Hell, you could wear an old band tee with jeans and throw this jacket on and you’re ready for the party! Same goes for this more traditional tux jacket with a satin lapel.

Tops you kinda have free reign. You can opt for a white button up { hey, this one already has a bow tie! } a silk shell, a sexy corset top or even a comfy solid tee made of a nice jersey.

If you are wanting to add a bow tie to finish off your look you can go the traditional route { I have a preference for velvet but ASOS has plenty of options } or you can go for the looser and larger ties that you can grab in the women’s section right now!

I kinda want to have collection of all the styles!

For shoes, you can go for a festive pump or a sturdy brogue. Almost anything could work, even some freshly cleaned up chucks!

Plus Size Holiday Glam Look 3 : Glitz Glamazon

Plus Size Holiday Glam Guide Glitz Glamazon

velvet tonal sequin dress – Forever 21+ { Canada } | studio maxi sequin skirt – Eloquii |  sequin plunge mini dress – ASOS CURVE | Forever Unique Plus All Over Sequin Maxi Dress – ASOS |  fine rib tights – ASOS CURVE | jess oversized clutch – boohoo  | marabou feather pom pom earrings – GlamourGoth | bamboo T-strap chunky platform –

This look is All. About. The. Dress.

Since the dress itself is basically a garment AND jewelry at the same time, you can really pair down on the accessories.  I simple yet strong clutch, a striking shoe and maybe some nylons if you are showing some leg so you stay warm, but also to make your legs look amazing!

I like the skirt becasue it leaves the top options so widely open. You could wear a sweater or crop top a tee or a strappy tank!

And yes, feel free to throw in one accessory! Fun earring, a great cocktail ring! Have fun, but use restraint and try to keep it to one accessory 😉

These are just a couple of my favourite glitzy dresses, but you can check out more that I’ve been pinning on my Plus Size Shopping board on Pinterest!

Plus Size Holiday Glam Look 4 : Night Becomes Her

Plus Size Holiday Glam Guide Night Time Glamour

lasercut star platform sandals – Missguided | moon & star arm cuff – ASOS CURVE | cool gal tutu in black – society+ | the white pepper moon clutch – ASOS | mesh bodysuit { comes in 3 colours & is customizable } – ChubbyCartwheels | metallic faux leather crop – forever 21+ { Canada }

This look is for the bold of heart. It’s daring and political, but beyond glamorous.

Tutu’s are HUGE right now, both in gaining popularity within the plus world, but also they take up a lot of space when you wear them. I have spoken with many women and they fear they would be taking up too much space if they wore a tutu and you know what? You will be taking up space, but just the right amount for your beautiful self to shine! Just like the moon and stars at night!

I think if you are daring enough to wear a tutu, why not go full force and wear a mesh body suit with it and your prettiest bra underneath? Or a metallic faux leather crop top??  These have all been off limits for plus size bodies for far too long, but no more!

But if it is chilly where you live you can always throw a cardi on which keeps the look warm and a safe but still just daring enough!

Be fearless and look fierce. You deserve it.

“The atoms of our bodies are traceable to stars that manufactured them in their cores and exploded these enriched ingredients across our galaxy, billions of years ago. For this reason, we are biologically connected to every other living thing in the world. We are chemically connected to all molecules on Earth. And we are atomically connected to all atoms in the universe. We are not figuratively, but literally stardust.”

Neil deGrasse Tyson
