Back To Business with Universal Standard | Plus Size Fashion for edgy women

With the return of Autumn come many feels and it’s not just back to school, it’s Back To Business! I know most of us have been working all summer long, but there’s is just something about the stationary being featured in shops and Pumpkin Spice lattes returning that makes me feel like it’s time to get back into a business frame of mind and a huge part of that, is having the business look to show I’m not playing around!

This office friendly look is inspired by Universal Standard and their Pop Up roadshow that kicks off next week in Seattle! They’re hosting multiple events, like a Pop-Up in Nordstrom, as well has hosting a showroom and model search! Everything kicks off next weekend, with additional dates in cities like Portland the following weekend. you can check the full list of cities and dates here.

Georgia Shirt Dress | Leatherette Pencil Skirt | Obi Belt | similar bag

I’ve reviewed Universal Standard in the past and I’m a raving fan! Yes, they are investment pieces, but for real, they are investments in your wardrobe, I couldn’t be happier with the wear n’ tear of my previous items, everything still looks new, even after I’ve spilled, dirtied, washed, crumpled and worn every item MULTIPLE times.

These three new pieces are no different, the texture of the Georgia dress is silky and soft, like the most luxurious sheets you’ve ever touched. It has a slight sheen to the fabric and the fit over the bust is fantastic. I’m wearing the L  {22-24} in this dress and it’s fitting over my JJ bust impeccably! Oh, and this dress has pockets!! **cue crowds cheering**

They have two versions of the leatherette pencil skirt, one that has the leatherette in the front and one that is completely leatherette, I opted for the full meal deal leatherette skirt. The fit, omg, the fit is lovely! Once again, I’m wearing the L {22-24} and it fits perfectly skimming, not too tight, not too loose, it sits exactly where it’s supposed to and has a super soft lining, well it’s not lined, but the inside of the leatherette is soft like flannel. This piece is gonna be AMAZING in the winter as it’s very cozy feeling.

I finished this look off with an obi belt, I’ve always wanted an obi belt, they always look so chic! This one is satin, and a skinnier model than many I’ve seen. I think it’ll be a great addition to many items when I want a cinched in waist.

I wore this look to a friends book launch this week and I felt incredibly grown up and chic. Though I wore shoes that unfortunately chewed up my feet and even though they looked better, I wasn’t able to wear them again for this shoot because my feet are so sore and tender now :'(  I’ll post my pics from that night at the bottom!

I hope all my west coast babes take the chance to go see these items in person, I think y’all are gonna gush over how beautiful each item is in it’s simplicity and luxury. Us fat babes don’t get that often, but Universal Standard really is changing all that!
