reader survey!

Hey lovelies! I ended up taking a bit a of a break off of blogging and most social media last week. It wasn’t intentional at all, I had a terrible reaction to a face wash and felt down in the dumps for five straight days. I’ll spare you the gruesome details, but I will let you know my skin is finally calming down, but still not 100% better. It was a complete blow to my confidence and I found I was depleted of energy and enthusiasm for everything. I know that sounds dramatic, but I guess I was being dramatic.

During my time away, I was being very introspective and thoughtful about how I present myself here on my blog and on social media, which brought me around to something I’ve been dying to do since last September, when I moved to a self hosted wordpress site, and that is a reader survey! I’ve seen other blogs do them before, like the Dainty Squid’s reader survey, who is someone I admire greatly. I love the idea or checking in with each other and seeing where we’re at. These days, blogs don’t often get a lot of comments, but I know you’re dropping by and seeing what’s up, but there’s not a lot of feedback or conversation to see if we’re all on the same page.

I love blogging, I love it so dang much but it’s not getting me anywhere if you’re not clicking with what I’m talking about anymore.  So I’m checking in with you today with a reader survey, I know people usually offer tantalizing rewards for completing something like this, but this is just me asking my pals to give me a heads up of what they think of what’s happening here, where they’d like to see things go and a chance to tell me to PLEASE-FOR-THE-LOVE-OF-ALL-THAT-IS GOOD-IN-THIS-WORLD-STOP, please stop doing these things right meow! Ok, there I go being overly dramatic again. So the only reward I have to offer is that I want to listen to what you have to say, find out where you’re coming from, start some conversations and take your advice into consideration and you may even give me the push to start something I’ve been too nervous to try { ahem *vloggin* ahem }

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for answering these questions for me! I’m excited to learn more about you and where we can go from here! There’s only 10 questions, it shouldn’t take very long, and hey, surveys are totally fun!

Thank you for helping me out! I hope to host a reader survey once per year from now on to keep better in touch with you all, because lets be honest, is the whole point of blogging, well, for me it is.

    Couldn’t select all the ways I follow you (which is probably for the best as I was going to sound like a stalker! I get your blog via Bloglovin, show my friends your pics on Instagram and occasionally check out what you’re doing on Snapchat.

    Oh man. Does this ever resonate with me right meow. I also had a total meltdown, impromptu blog hiatus this month… and I’m planning on running a reader survey. I don’t know if it’s something about how the planets are aligned, but I know A LOT of people going through this right now. Sorry to hear about your face. Allergic reactions like that are the worst.

      Mercury retrograde just ended, didn’t it?? I always say it doesn’t effect me, but it probably totally does and I’m just in denial! I’ve just been feeling like my content hasn’t been connecting like it used to and I needed to do a check in with my readers and myself to see where we’re all at. I’m also wondering if I have something set up wrong on the back end of my site ever since I switch from wp.com to wp.org as my stats are WILDLY different then they used to be.
